## Email and your data

This site has two forms and they do different things.

**Subscribing to The Briefing** collects your first name, last name and email address, and nothing else. They are used to send you The Briefing and nothing else. Blaine writes and sends each issue himself rather than through a bulk-mail service, so there is no unsubscribe link: reply to any issue and say stop, and you are off the list.

**The contact form** collects your first name, last name and email address, your company and your role, whatever you choose to write in the optional last field, and which page you were on when you wrote. The address is where the reply goes. The rest is so Blaine knows who is asking, and about what, before he answers. Getting in touch does not subscribe you to anything.

**Where it is held.** Both forms are received by Netlify, which serves this site, and kept in HubSpot, which is where the firm keeps its records. Because Blaine sends The Briefing himself, a subscriber's address is also in his own mail, which is a Google account. Those are the only places your details go. Nothing here is ever sold, and nothing is passed to anyone for their own use.

**If you want to know what is held on you**, or want a copy of it, or want it deleted, write to the address at the foot of this page. Blaine answers these himself.

## Analytics

This site counts visits using Plausible, a privacy-first analytics service. It sets no cookies and collects no personal information. We can see which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from and which links are followed. Neither we nor Plausible can work out who you are.
